1. GENERAL
1.1 The “Kawasaki TU Delft Open Tournament 2018” has 4 different levels (categories): category α,  category β, category ϒ and category δ.
1.2 The following tournament rules/policies have been defined by the tournament committee and are applicable in this “Kawasaki TU Delft Open Tournament 2018”.
1.3 The tournament committee has the right at any given time to take any action, deemed necessary, in the best interest of the tournament “Kawasaki TU Delft Open Tournament 2018”

2. SPORTS HALL AND TOURNAMENT TIME
2.1 The tournament will be held in the Sport Centre of The Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), located at Mekelweg 8 – 10, 2628 CD, Delft.
2.2 The tournament will be held from 09:00 till 22:00 on Saturday the 16th of June.
2.3 The matches will be played on 15 courts.
2.4 The prize ceremony will take place after the last final match in the Sport Centre of TU Delft.

3. LEVELS (CATEGORIES)
3.1 Category α: Second division until Fourth division NBB “Bondscompetitie”
3.2 Category β: Main class (“Hoofdklasse”) until Second class regional South West (“Regio Zuid-West”)
3.3 Category ϒ: Third class until Fifth class regional South West (“Regio Zuid-West”)
3.4 Category δ: Sixth class until Seventh class regional South West (“Regio Zuid-West”)
3.5 ATTENTION: There are differences in the regional competition level among all regions. You can refer to this link (only available in Dutch) to determine your own level.

4. DISCIPLINES
4.1 There will be 5 different disciplines. These are: Men’s and Women’s Singles, Men’s and Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
4.2 Participants can sign up for a maximum of 2 different disciplines (in the same or different categories). However, it is not possible to sign up for one discipline in different categories.
4.3 It is not permitted to play in a lower level than your latest played level; you are however allowed to play in a higher level/category.
4.4 In all double disciplines, you will play with your own partner. In case you do not have one, please indicate “WANTED” on the registration form.
4.5 In all double disciplines, it is possible to have a partner from a different competition level. In this case your category will be based on the player with the highest competition level.

5. TOURNAMENT SYSTEM
5.1 The group system will be used in this tournament. So no DROP OUTS. In the event of the amount of subscriptions exceeding the availability of places in the group system, the committee holds the right to switch certain disciplines to the knock out system, to facilitate more participants.
5.2 All matches will be played using the normal (“Best of three”) system.
5.3 In case there are less than 4 participants in one discipline, the tournament committee holds the right to cancel this discipline or combine it with another category (based on your level).
5.4 In every match of the group phase, if the player(s), due to an injury or another reason, cannot continue the match, then his/her opponent gets a “walkover”. His/her other matches in the group will no longer be considered. In this case, his/her participation in that discipline will come to an end.

6. SHUTTLES
6.1 In the 3 highest categories, α, β and ϒ feather shuttles will be used.
6.2 In the lowest categories, δ, the choice of shuttles is upon agreement. In case the participants are unable to agree, they will use the following shuttles:
- Nylon shuttles in category δ
6.3 Participants have to bring their own shuttles.The tournament committee will provide two feather shuttles or one nylon shuttle for each final.

7 PRIZES
7.1 There are two prizes available, for the champion and the runner-up, in each discipline.

8 REGISTERING
8.1 The registration fee without TU Delft sportscard is € 10.00 for 1 discipline and € 17.00 for 2 disciplines. The registration fee with TU Delft sportscard is € 5.00 for both 1 discipline and 2 disciplines. Please add the number of your sportscard to your registration to make sure you can use the discount.
8.2 The registration fee has to be transferred before 48 hours before the tournament (Thursday the 14th of June). If the registration fee is not transferred before this deadline and one pays on the day itself, an administration fee of €3.00 will be added to the registration fee.
8.3 The registration fee has to be paid before the start of your first match at the registration desk.
8.4 Registrations will be handled based on time order of registration. For all doubles disciplines, the registration is only valid when both players have registered.
8.5 The deadline for registration is Friday the first of June 2016 23:59. When the maximum number of matches is reached, the registration will be closed. The tournament committee can decide to close the registration for a particular discipline, in case it has been saturated already.
8.6 There will also be a waiting list for players who registered after the total number of players/matches has been reached.
8.7 Cancelling the registration while returning the registration fee is only possible 48 hours before the tournament.

9 CLOTHES AND SHOES
9.1 It is mandatory to wear proper sports clothes as well as sports shoes.

10 FACILITIES
10.1 Food and drinks may be purchased at the Sports Café of TU Delft for fair prices.
10.2 The Sports Café is open until 22:00 o’clock, the kitchen will however close at 21:00.
10.3 ALLRACKETS.com will be available during the tournament. The place to go to purchase some badminton related articles, string your rackets, etc. at a custom price.

11 RESPONSIBILITY
11.1 The tournament committee and the Sport Centre TU Delft are not responsible for any injury, and/or belongings getting damaged or even lost.
11.2 First aid (EHBO) will be available during the tournament.
11.3 During the tournaments photos will be taken, and videos will be made. Participants of this tournament approve with the decision of publishing these photos and videos online.
